This new weblog - under construction - will strive to provoke discussion on the subject of traditional English-Canadian Nationalism, whether it be grounded in the Tory, Liberal, or Social-Democratic tradition; further, this weblog will seek out dialogue with those English-Canadian Nationalists who "seek a better Country," and who desire a better fate than the current subjugation within the New American Empire. It will also opine on the issues of the day - Political, Economic, Cultural - Domestic and International.

I seek the attention of traditional Canadian (red or blue) Tories, and not the Neo-Conservatives of Stephen Harper - and the so-called "Calgary School." They are anathema to me, and my fellow Tories and Nationalists. I welcome moderate Nationalists from the Liberal and Social-Democratic camps. Fascists and Communists are not welcome here ...

The inspiration and muse for this site is the late George Parkin Grant - most famously the author of that seminal work: Lament for a Nation: The Defeat of Canadian Nationalism.

Other heroes in our pantheon are Sir John A. Macdonald, Sir Robert Borden, Harold Adams Innis, Donald Creighton, John Farthing, E. Davie Fulton, The Rt. Honourable Robert Stanfield, and at times, the late Rt. Honourable John G. Diefenbaker.

With great love and admiration for Richard Hooker, William Pitt the Elder & William Pitt the Younger, William Wilberforce, Edmund Burke, the First, Third & Seventh Earls of Shaftesbury, Robert Peel, Benjamin Disraeli, Sir Winston Churchill, The First Earl of Stockton, and Michael Oakeshott. In and through them, we will remember a different, and much more humane conservatism than that emanating from the bowels of contemporary Washington, DC.
